TWO PEOPLE, THE SAME STANDARD
Who we are.
EL POAIG was born from Manuel Arnau and Joaquim Solano’s desire to save the millenary Farga trees: to offer the finest oil, protect a territory and preserve the Maestrat’s ancient tradition.

THE JUDGEMENT BEHIND OUR OILS
Manuel Arnau
Manuel is EL POAIG’s master miller. Together with Joaquim and the people of the Maestrat, he defends millenary olive trees by placing value on their oil. His work does not begin at the mill: he walks the territory and follows each tree, the soil, flowering, climate and ripening.
Each season he decides how to approach the harvest. He coordinates picking, selects the fruit, adjusts milling, malaxation and extraction, and determines how to preserve aroma, bitterness, pungency and polyphenols.

THE UNIVERSAL VISION
Joaquim Solano
Joaquim articulates the vision of EL POAIG: defending millenary olive trees and their territory, and connecting with renowned chefs and clients around the world through his Mediterranean way of understanding life.
CARMEN DEL POAIG bears the name of his grandmother. She passed on everything she knew about growing olives and a relationship with the land based on observation, care and respect for its rhythms. EL POAIG was born from that knowledge.
